Aims of the German Society for Orthopterology
The aim of the DGfO is the scientific exchange of knowledge on all subjects of Orthopterology, especially for German speaking persons. Main focus is on results relevant to nature conservation. Subjects include:
- Acquisition, analysis and publication of scientific date concerning research from various fields on Orthoptera (e.g. taxonomy, morphology, ecology, faunistics, physiology).
- Continuing publication of the journal "Articulata", founded in 1975 by Dr. h.c. Kurt Harz. The journal covers the Orthoptera of Europe (publication at least once a year).
- Cooperation with nature conservation organisations and authorities with the aim to preserve the basic resources for the survival of Orthoptera.
